A mini stroke can affect the muscles of the face. One side of the face may droop, the mouth may look uneven, or the person may have trouble smiling normally.
A simple check is to ask the person to smile. If one side does not move like the other, treat it as a warning sign. Do not wait to see if it improves.
Face drooping is part of the FAST stroke warning signs: Face, Arms, Speech, and Time. The NHS explains that TIA symptoms are similar to stroke symptoms and can include numbness or weakness in the face, arms, or legs.
