A Protruding Lower Belly and a Stiff Lower Back: What the Psoas Muscle May Have to Do With It

A protruding lower belly and a stiff lower back can sometimes be connected through posture, hip flexor tightness, weak core muscles, and the deep psoas muscle. The solution is usually not extreme stretching or quick fixes. It is gentle movement, better sitting habits, hip mobility, glute strength, and core support.

If the problem is persistent, painful, or comes with warning signs, get checked. Your back and hips may simply need better movement, but it is always safer to rule out more serious causes.
