Start gently. The goal is not to force the body into painful stretches. Painful stretching can irritate the area and make symptoms worse.
1. Take movement breaks
If you sit for long periods, stand up every 30 to 60 minutes. Walk for a few minutes, gently extend the hips, or change position.
2. Try a gentle hip flexor stretch
Kneel on one knee with the other foot forward. Keep your chest tall and gently shift the hips forward until you feel a stretch at the front of the back hip. Do not arch your lower back. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds.
