4. Sudden Vision Changes
Dr. Howard Baum of Vanderbilt University notes that diabetes can alter vision, either improving or worsening. “ I have had patients tell me that their vision improved when their blood sugar was raised, and then after starting diabetes treatment, they needed their glasses again .” Blood sugar imbalances affect the fluids in the eye, causing sudden vision changes.
5. Persistent itching:
An intense and constant itching sensation may indicate diabetes. Dr. Baum emphasizes that ” almost all patients with recently diagnosed diabetes report experiencing itching in their hands, legs, and feet .” This phenomenon is linked to dry skin and reduced blood flow, symptoms that warrant medical attention if not relieved by moisturizers.
